He has released five albums with his ensemble on ECM Records, including Outstairs, which won a Norwegian Grammy. The ensemble's music combines jazz, chamber music and avant-garde, enriched by the use of electronic effects and unusual instruments such as the Hardanger fiddle and church organ.
