Founded in 1997 in Szczecin, Poland, Dikanda is considered one of the leading bands in the field of global sounds. In its almost 30-year history, the group has released eight albums and played around 2,000 concerts; from the USA to Bangladesh, from Sweden to Morocco. Their music is inspired by the Balkans, the Middle East, the Orient, Africa and the surrounding world - global music in the best sense of the word. In addition to traditional songs, the band mainly plays its own pieces with seemingly absurd lyrics, which it complements with words it has created itself. Over the course of time, this has given rise to their own language - “dikandisch”.
