Probably the most courageous Swiss band takes us by surprise with interference sounds, feminsitic proliferation and monotonal virtuosity. During their live performances the focus is on improvisation. Everything else is coincidence, like applause for the Big Bang, and garbage in outer space. Why? Because it can be different! «How To Take Up Space>, the debut album of the band from Zurich has just been released. Both cumbersome and full of relish.

The duo Ester Poly comprises Martina Berther on electro-bass from Zurich and Béatrice Graf on drums from Geneva. Their music moves between Psychedelic Rock, Punk and New Wave with political and socio-critical song texts. Since the foundation in 2013 the duo has played over 160 concerts in Switzerland and abroad, from big club and festival stages to small DIY gigs. On their second album, «WET», (release on 20. August 2021 on the Swiss label Hummus Records) the two musicians now expand the possibility of the bass + drum tandem with unforeseen sounds and influences from improvised music. The result of the mix is a freshly squeezed Ester-Poly juice with a bitter socio-critical aftertaste.
