A themed evening around the film «Misty» about the great pianist Erroll Garner: even before the film is shown in cinemas, a kind of preview will take place at Moods. After an introduction and a discussion with director Georges Gachot, there will be an insight into the film followed by a solo concert by trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær, who composed the soundtrack for the film.

The Film:
The American pianist Erroll Garner (1921 - 1977) changed jazz forever: His piece Misty, which he allegedly composed between two concerts on an aeroplane, immediately became one of the great jazz standards and is still one of the most covered ballads in the world today. Who was the man behind the ever-friendly smile from the ghettos of Pittsburgh, whose talent brought him to the biggest international stages?

The premiere of the film will take place on 3 December at the Riff Raff cinema, the official cinema release date is 26 December.

The solo set by Nils Petter Molvær:
Nils Petter Molvær is considered a pioneer of electronic jazz - his sound is a unique blend of jazz, electronic and ambient that explores the boundaries of what is possible with trumpet and electronic music. On this evening, Molvær will play a solo set that pays homage to the film «Misty» , for which he composed the soundtrack.
