Orchestra Baobab has been on stage for over 50 years! The Senegalese band was founded in 1970, ten years after the country's independence, and created the soundtrack of the young nation with its mixture of traditional music and influences from all over the world. Over the years, the line-up has of course changed, but what makes Orchestra Baobab what it is today has remained the same: An irrepressible joy of playing and the unmistakable mix of Afro-Latin American styles, international pop and traditional griot music.

Afreekaya, who shuttles tirelessly between Latin America and the Middle East, between the Caribbean and Africa, makes audiences sweat with his Afro-tropical, funky or raw sounds with a psychedelic or electronic twist.

Tim Waller, alias Voilà-Tim, first became aware of South African music in 1985. He was immediately captivated by the beats and the energy, and since then he has taken every opportunity to browse through Africa's rich palette of musical styles and bring this lively music closer to the dancing public.
