Album Release «en casa veglia»

As the name suggests, the album &quot;en casa veglia&quot; was created in an old house in the village of Gün. The former farmhouse is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, unspoilt nature, mountains, streams, forests and meadows. With your eyes closed, the surroundings are no less intoxicating. If you listen instead of just looking, you will be rewarded with a vast variety of sounds. This modern jazz quartet, led by double bass player Vito Cadonau, does not discriminate against &quot;noise&quot; as such, but appreciates and uses it as a musical treasure. After all, the Romansh word &quot;ramur&quot; means nothing less than &quot;noise&quot;.

Back in 2009, their fresh rock/post-rock electronic sound, described as euphoric, holistic, spacey, and raucous quickly catapulted the Jordanian-Palestinian band from Amman to massive success; an artistic journey that saw them become one of the leading socially and politically outspoken bands reviving the Arab independent music scene. El Morabba3 broke cultural barriers and appealed to a generation of hunger-stricken fans living in an unstable and restless region, as they craved a new sound; one that expressed the thoughts, concerns, and anger of the people towards the realities they are living today. Today, Muhammad Abdulla and Basel Naouri live in Berlin, they have restructured the band and take El Morabba3&#x27;s earlier aesthetic evolution into a new direction. Departing from the raw post-rock energy of the first album and the polished instrumental/electronic fervor of the second, the artists have taken a deep dive into experimentation with electronic tunes and storytelling.

Σtella has actually become one of Greece&#x27;s most popular indie stars with her reduced synth sounds. Actually. Her album Up and Away was first released in 2022 on the legendary Sub Pop label, and the Athens-based painter, visual artist and performer sounds completely different on it. During the recording process, she rediscovered her parents&#x27; record collection from the 50s and 60s full of Greek folk-pop artists and now presents vintage pop poems about the agonies and raptures of love. With a honeyed voice, accompanied by bouzouki and zither alongside drums and bass, Σtella sings of consuming affairs and deeper relationships. Like a storyteller, she builds a bridge between past and present. You can literally hear the crackling of the records on her grandfather&#x27;s gramophone. The changeable Σtella is enchanting.

Mano Santo&#x27;s musical journey started with a great passion for West Coast hip-hop. Soon he started producing beats with his friends and his music naturally evolved across genres. Inspired by his roots in the Balkans and by the sampling culture in hip-hop music, he takes the freedom to experiment with rhythms and melodies and blends them as he sees fit. This is where he is most passionate and feels home. The outcome: a magnificent mix of cultures, languages, and genres.

Yumi Ito, a Swiss singer with Polish-Japanese roots, moves effortlessly between genres and her roles as singer, pianist, composer and improviser. She has performed twice with the ZJO, and Ed Partyka is very much looking forward to arranging some of Yumi&#x27;s brand new compositions. The audience can expect an evening of unusual sounds, refreshing and inspiring moments – and surprises: As Yumi Ito&#x27;s music is conceived and composed for smaller ensembles, Ed Partyka&#x27;s big band arrangements open up new worlds of sound.

After the musical opening of the jam band, lively and exciting sound conversations begin between musicians who spontaneously meet on stage, reflecting the diversity of jazz in all its facets. The JazzBaragge Wednesday Jam is supported by the non-profit association JazzBaragge. There is no presale for JazzBaragge, only box office.

Siselabonga are back with a new EP called &#x27;In Stone&#x27;. This time, South African singer-songwriter Nongoma takes the mic as the group moves through a kaleidoscopic mix of acoustic and electronic sounds. The rhythmic foundation is West African to the core, with selected elements of hip-hop, soul, Afrobeats and electro-pop thrown in for good measure. Lively, sensual and transcendent. GRAMMY-nominated trumpeter, producer and composer Theo Croker is a storyteller who speaks through his trumpet - a creative who defies boundaries and makes himself heard through music. Gospel, blues, jazz, soul, funk: Theo Croker emphasises the historical musical similarities of all these genres and transforms them into a new, contemporary sound. On a meta-level, these trends are linked for him anyway in the positive creative power of love, which makes it possible to create new worlds of experience and realities against all odds. Theo Croker explains: &quot;&#x27;Love Quantum&#x27; is also a tribute to all the different levels of love that can exist - love for a friend, love for a partner, love for a parent, love for oneself and love for life. Whilst his music is built on the folk traditions he grew up with, it’s the versatility of rhythm and colour from the most delicate shades to the highest energy that is most captivating. Fergus is also a 2022-24 BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist - the only non-classical artist in the current cohort. After having performed at Kultur Lokal Rank in early 2023, he is back in town with his new album «Stream».

Dancehall Mood is the monthly reggae and dancehall party at Moods. Like on every first Saturday of the month, the K.O.S crew will make the Moods club cooking with hot riddims.
