Zoh Amba is a saxophonist from Kingsport, Tennessee who has quickly become a notable presence on the avant-garde scene since moving to New York in the fall of 2021. She studied with David Murray in New York, but also at the San Francisco Conservatory Of Music and the New England Conservatory. Her upcoming album "O, Sun" is a spiritual and at the same time emotionally powerful statement, which gives her an immensely strong presence. Hypnotic phrases, beautiful folk melodies and a soulful tone make listening to this powerful and moving music an almost sacred ritual.
