Ikarus

Two-voice singing that ranges from soft to penetrative and from melodious to scat, and a rhythm section that experiments with challenging meters: that is Ikarus. Under the leadership of composer and drummer Ramón Olivera, the result is playing with free improvisation of their own musical style, which they themselves call Evocative Jazz. The quintet offers a charming show, where the listener is clearly challenged, but not overly. Contemporary jazz, which, in its creation, over and again discovers untrodden paths.
