The Brit James Taylor is a talented Hammond B-3 organ player and a pioneer of acid jazz. Meanwhile, his quarter has written a 30-year history which comprises countless albums and collaboration with renowned performers such as Tom Jones, U2 and The Pogues. Throughout the years the James Taylor Quartet has developed its very own sound, which is audibly inspired by the funk of the 60&#x27;s and 70&#x27;s, R’n’B, psychedelic Jazz and film scores. What began as a party motto is these days a bridge between western Club sounds and Arabian music. The DJ’s Hervé Carvalho and Guido Minisky - both already active on the Paris club scene for more than two decades – started the party series Acid Arab about four years ago. Their name says it all: Techno, Acid House and Disco are blended with sounds from North Africa and the Middle East and thus develop a hypnotic force that no one can resist.

He is the King of Neo-Soul and quasi a living legend: Roy Ayers. It is said, that he received his first vibraphone mallets by his great role model, Lionel Hampton, as a present when he was five years old. Following countless concerts and recordings since the 60’s, today he is the most well-known vibraphone player. He is able to create a unique blend of different musica styles: whether classic Jazz or electronic «Tarzan»-Remixes, via club hymns such as «Running Away» and «Our Time is Coming» on to Funk classics «The Freaky Deaky» and «We Live in Brooklyn Baby» – and Roy Ayers celebrated with everyone «Everybody love the Sunshine». Fans of Acid Jazz, Funk, Electronica, House and Hip-Hop have admired, sampled and remixed his tracks throughout the entire world. 50 cent, Mary J. Blige, The Roots, Madlib, Matthew Herbert, Basement Jaxx and Jazzanova are only a few of the many that Roy Ayers has influenced.

Dominik Blum is the archetypical, postmodern, stylistic world traveller: classisal piano practice as daily bread for retention of speed and to sharpen mind and spirit, Hammond organ playing as eclectic consolidation somewhere between New Music, Minimal, Rock, Free Jazz, Walls of Sound. Church Organ playing, analogue synthesiser playing, and lately he often reaches for his electric bass and lets it rip... somehow all of this will surface (with illustrious guests) in his Carte Blanche sessions during December 2020! The third evening of Dominik Blums Carte Blanche is dedicated to alternative Groove music. The Zurich Post Grunge band age, in which Blum can be heard as singing bassist, plays the first set.

Thereafter, for the last highlight, the three musicians of Aluk Todolo from Paris get Moods a-shaking with their occult, virtuoso, brutal post-rock. Hendrix will be checking this out, equally Sunn O or for example the Japanese Acid Mothers Temple. An insider tip among the classic guitar rock trios. Great music that deserves more reward.

Their music moves between Psychedelic Rock, Punk and New Wave with political and socio-critical song texts. Since the foundation in 2013 the duo has played over 160 concerts in Switzerland and abroad, from big club and festival stages to small DIY gigs. On their second album, «WET», (release on 20. August 2021 on the Swiss label Hummus Records) the two musicians now expand the possibility of the bass + drum tandem with unforeseen sounds and influences from improvised music. The result of the mix is a freshly squeezed Ester-Poly juice with a bitter socio-critical aftertaste.

“It&#x27;s hard to say whether it was an idea or if it just happened...” Whatever the reason, in 2023, Rob Gallagher announced: Galliano are back! Formed in London&#x27;s underground clubs and warehouse parties in the late 1980s and making their debut with the Acid Jazz label in 1988, Galliano emerged from a culture encompassing music, dance, fashion, art, design, and literature. “They were the first group to really make the connection between club and jazz culture – the opening line to a space that would later include groups from The Comet is Coming to Ezra Collective,&quot; explained Galliano&#x27;s long-time supporter, Gilles Peterson. Three decades later, Galliano are back with their new album, Halfway Somewhere, released on Peterson&#x27;s label, Brownswood Recordings. Their unmistakable blend of astral jazz, cosmic funk, conscious soul, dub reggae and dancefloor rhythms is as sharp as ever!

22a label boss, flautist, saxophonist, producer and DJ, Ed ‘Tenderlonious’ Cawthorne is regarded as one of the leading figures in the London jazz and underground music scene. His South London based record label, 22a, is one of the most respected independent labels in the UK, following a succession of sought after releases spanning jazz, house, hip hop, soul, garage, Indian classical and jungle. Running a record label is enough work alone, so anyone who digs a little deeper will know that Tenderlonious has amassed an armoury of releases that transcend your average UK artist. He is the founder and leader of jazz-funk-fusion quartet Ruby Rushton, who’s first album Two For Joy, released in 2015, is often credited for inspiring the UK jazz resurgence. His debut Tenderlonious live album &quot;The Shakedown&quot; is considered to be one of the classic albums of the modern jazz era, gaining rave reviews and receiving over 5 million streams worldwide. He has also proven himself to be one of the most versatile and forward thinking musicians in the world, collaborating with Polish jazz band EABS, Italian musician and producer Lorenzo Morresi, on their 2022 Italo disco album Cosmica Italiana and for his famous collaboration with the Pakistani band Jaubi, which has so far generated three albums.  His music has received rave reviews from the likes of Clash, The Guardian, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Wire and Dowbeat to name a few, and has led to headline shows and festivals all over the world.  Having performed at Moods with Ruby Rushton or Jaubi in the past, this time Tenderlonious will set the mood as a DJ and selector.

SYNCHRONOS Tour – Live in Dub Surround – Mixed by Umberto Echo

The name says it all: Dub Spencer &amp; Trance Hill catapult hand-played dub into galactic spheres. The four musicians chase basses through delay universes, ignite flashes of organ and guitar and unleash a world of sound on stage that hypnotizes and enthrals. Ever since their legendary session with the Godfather of Dub, Lee Scratch Perry, they have stood for uncompromising Dub-Sound - driving, futuristic and with a live energy that is second to none. Over 400 concerts from Portugal to Estonia have cemented their reputation as one of the best dub live bands in Europe. Drummer Julian Dillier delivers beats with the precision of a Swiss chronometer, while bassist Masi Stalder lays down vibrating low-pressure waves. Keyboard and effects virtuoso Philipp Greter screws echo spirals into the room that knot every brain, and Michael Bucher fires guitar riffs over the crowd like laser beams. At the controls, sound alchemist Umberto Echo condenses the action into a 360° mix that hits from all directions. Their remixes? A fusion of playfulness and acoustic care - refined by collaborations with British electro icons Gaudi, Tim Bran (London Grammar) and Youth (The Orb) or the Swiss duo Yello - an upgrade with depth. Le 7è ciel – Citytunes Zürich

Severin Prothmann, who today spins under the name Le 7è ciel, was a resident at the &quot;Club Aera&quot; (Zurich) as well as at the &quot;Different Bar&quot; (Bern) from 1991 on. His bookings led him from there over a multitude of locations in Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Lucerne, Basel, Bern and Zurich to Berlin. Since 1993 he produces electronic music under the label Zoul Guru Rec. and together with his wife Maria he is organizer and promoter of Citytunes in Zurich since 2012. He initially found his love for music through a classical education on clarinet, bass clarinet as well as saxophone and continued as a DJ from the age of 13. Initially, mainly funk, disco and jazz landed on Sevi&#x27;s turntables before he was among the first in Switzerland to adopt hip hop. His commitment to this culture culminated in the opening of the legendary &quot;Beat Bunker&quot;, Switzerland&#x27;s first permanent rap club in Zurich North. His path as a DJ then led from rap to acid jazz to electronic music.

For over two decades, Matt Johnson has been a key member of Jamiroquai, playing keyboards and co-writing most of the band’s material during that time. He also co-produced their last album &quot;Automaton&quot;. He has become legendary among keyboard players for his unique style, blending funk, acid jazz and electronica. He also hosts a popular YouTubechannel dedicated to all things keys which has over 140,000 subscribers. As well as Jamiroquai, Matt has written and performed on many artist’s records including Dizzee Rascal, Duﬀy, Ashanti, Lizzo, Purple Disco Machine, Nolwenn Leroy, Lucky Daye, Newton Faulkner and many more. In 2025, Matt joined the prestigious Parisian Label Naïve to release his 2nd Solo album &quot;Warrior Princess&quot;, a gorgeous retro sounding record inspired by the modern activisit and heroine Greta Thunberg. Blending 70s funk, cosmic jazz and raw soul, the album features prestigious musicians including Jeﬀ Lorber, Cory Wong and Will Lee.
