China Moses

She is the daughter of famous parents: director Gilbert Moses who died in 1995 and the jazz diva Dee Dee Bridgewater. Her first steps were however not detemined by jazz: „I am influenced by soul, I love Rhythm and Blues”, says China Moses. She received her first recording contract when she was teenager – at the time singing was more important to her than school. China Moses become known in 2008 through the album «This One's For Dinah», a homage to the legendary Dinah Washington. As jazz and soul diva with her own style, she no longer needs to hide behind her idol. Her new album, «Nightintales», comprises totally - for the first time - only own compositions and comes across much groovier as its predecessor.
