Zurich Jazz Orchestra feat. Nils Wogram

The cooperation between the ZJO and trombonist Nils Wogram who lives near Zurich has been long awaited. Wogram has long been recognised as one of the leading trombone players, and not only in Switzerland. His velvety, exquisitely smooth and versatile playing has impressed both critics and audiences alike for more than twenty years. The 44-year-old Wogram clearly has his roots in classic jazz, yet his horizon is broad: sometimes he plays Bebop, sometimes he drags jazz into a new millenium, then he leads another Big Band project. Or he takes on a Duke Ellington classic and transports it courageously yet respectfully into the modern age. With the Zurich Jazz Orchestra, Wogram plays own compositions and arrangements where he is the common denominator.
