British-Nigerian singer and songwriter Ola Onabulé has always been interested in crossing cultural and musical boundaries. His three-and-a-half octave baritone is the perfect instrument to do so. Al Jarreau has been a major influence on his singing and composing style. Today, Ola is at home in jazz, R&B and soul, but also in pop, and is in great demand as an artist worldwide. The programme consists of Ed Partyka's arrangements of Ola's original compositions, but also of new arrangements that the bandleader has written especially for this evening and the soloists of the ZJO.
