Here, structures are broken up and boundaries are explored! London-based pianist and singer Ashley Henry mixes jazz with neo-soul, hip-hop and R&#x27;n&#x27;B in his compositions. The result is a groovy sound that offers room for breakbeats as well as Henry&#x27;s lyrical and playful piano solos. In a short space of time, Ashley Henry has developed from a newcomer to an important voice in the British jazz scene.

From Guadeloupe, Grammy nominated vocalist, songwriter and producer Malika Tirolien is an explosive mix of creativity, dedication and genuineness. Her love, passion and respect for music can be felt in the sparkling authenticity of her performances in which her soaring voice immediately grabs your attention and her well-crafted compositions present effusive emotions through conscious and engaged lyrics. Montreal based, she has been garnering international attention for almost a decade, striking with her electrifying performance on “Iʼm not the one”, a prime track on the Grammy-winning album “Family Dinner” by Snarky Puppy that has been inspiring countless covers worldwide. MISS C-LINE & The Rabidz

MISS C-LINE is an up-and-coming neo-soul singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Bern/Basel. Her music blends soul and groove with elements of hip-hop and jazz to create a unique and memorable style. Inspired by greats such as Erykah Badu, The Roots and Robert Glasper, MISS C-LINE writes and produces all her songs herself. This earned her a nomination for the Kick Ass Award in 2019, three appearances at the SRF Bounce Cypher, her debut album Surreal was included in international playlists and in 2021 she won the New Generation Jazz Lab Contest. This concert recording was made with the support of Migros Culture Percentage.

Summer Pearl

From her hometown of London, singer Summer Pearl is currently taking the music world by storm. Her sound of jazz, soul, hip-hop and dub, is reminiscent of the one of the great Erykah Badu, both powerful and touching at the same time. Summer Pearl herself describes it as &quot;a meditation on my past and a reflection of our present. It is both a personal and political message exploring black and female liberation and love gained and love lost.&quot;

Bilal

He is an icon of Neo-Soul: the American singer Bilal. The texts are political and socially critical, the sound moves somewhere between Soul, Hip-Hop, Blues, Gospel and Jazz. His voice winds sinuously through all the octaves in order to come over sometimes softly, at other times powerful. Over the years Bilal has worked with the greats such as Erykah Badu, Robert Glasper and Kendrick Lamar and in the process he has developed into one of the most renowned exponents of this genre.

Moonchild

Moonchild plays the finest Neo-Soul, yet one constantly gleans that the three musicians stem originally from traditional jazz. The trio - comprising songstress Amber Navran and horn-players Max Bryk and Andris Matteson - has meanwhile made a name for itself in the soul-jazz scene and has already collaborated wuth the greats such as Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott and India Arie. Their album «Voyager», released in May 2017, totally follows their muical path thus far: from atmospheric to groovy, with synthesizer sounds and influences from hip-hop and funk. Their style reminds us of Erykah Badou and Robert Glasper, and yet they are unique; not least thanks to Amber Navran&#x27;s voice, which lends Moonchild&#x27;s music its own character.
