In this living room edition of Style Bakery, two Zurich legends find each other: the Zurich lion &quot;E.K.R.&quot; and &quot;Lil Bruzy&quot;, a young star in the Zurich trap sky; both underground and yet fundamentally different. Between their hits &quot;Susi&quot; and &quot;Trottinet&quot; lie over twenty years and several rap eras. The Bernese dancer &quot;Muud&quot; dances elegantly back to the future. And as always, the improvised live beats are accompanied by freestyle and dancing.

MISS C-LINE is an up-and-coming neo-soul singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Bern/Basel. Her music blends soul and groove with elements of hip-hop and jazz to create a unique and memorable style. Inspired by greats such as Erykah Badu, The Roots and Robert Glasper, MISS C-LINE writes and produces all her songs herself. This earned her a nomination for the Kick Ass Award in 2019, three appearances at the SRF Bounce Cypher, her debut album Surreal was included in international playlists and in 2021 she won the New Generation Jazz Lab Contest. The concert ticket is also valid for the party afterwards.

Leenalchi

Leenalchi shows us how experimental and avant-garde the K-pop scene can be. The band from Seoul has dedicated itself to reinterpreting the Korean storytelling genre Pansori, which is characterized by a special performance style with vocals and percussion. The band sings verses of traditional Korean fairy tales and draws musical inspiration from alt-rock and eighties new wave. By dissecting and rearranging traditional elements, the result is music that is forward-looking, but at the same time strongly rooted in tradition. In Korea itself, the band has long been established, filling concert halls, winning various Korean Music Awards, and appearing in a Netflix production. Leenalchi gained international attention in 2020 with their song Tiger Is Coming and subsequently thrilled audiences at renowned festivals including Roskilde, Pohoda, Womad, Fusion and the FMM Festival.

Summer Pearl

From her hometown of London, singer Summer Pearl is currently taking the music world by storm. Her sound of jazz, soul, hip-hop and dub, is reminiscent of the one of the great Erykah Badu, both powerful and touching at the same time. Summer Pearl herself describes it as &quot;a meditation on my past and a reflection of our present. It is both a personal and political message exploring black and female liberation and love gained and love lost.&quot;

Nine years have elapsed since Tommy Vercetti&#x27;s fulminant debut «Seiltänzer» (tightrope walker), which many consider to be the milestone of Swiss Rap and has had an effect way beyond the musical borders- not least being awarded the Berner Literaturpreis.  Nobody combines Rap, Literature, Musicality and Zeitgeist like he does. The album produced by Pablo Nouvelle poses the key question as to whether music can still play a freeing role in society. Or to be more specific: if you challenge these dark times and the associated cynical or removed-from-reality pop culture, to what extent can one paint an optimistic picture of the future? They describe their style as «Gospel Porn» and otherwise simply bristle with self-irony and satire: the two enfants terribles are known as Wanlov The Kubolor and Rapper MC M3nsa Ansah, and they stir up the music scene of Ghana with their trippy sound. The Fokn Bois use groovy Hip-Hop, Dub and Afro-Techno as the foundation for their ingenious and bawdy texts in Afro-English slang. Their high-energy concerts, where they will be accompanied by keyboarder Andras Weil, remind us of unusual art performances. Style Bakery presents Cypher Reloaded

The Style Bakery is a Freestyle session. For three years renowned MC’s and vocalists have met up with a magnificent band in order to create unpredictable and unique musical moments in an energy-loaded atmosphere. The Style Bakery collective now presents an expanded format and celebrates its premiere in Moods. Selected artists perform their Virus Bounce Cypher part “live” with the band. The Late-Night-Show will be hosted in person by Pablo, the Cypher-Chief himself.

Steff la Cheffe

A sold-out concert with a great Steff la Cheffe and an impressed audience - we need to do that again! In order to do justice to the big demand, the rapper and beatboxer from Bern will give two concerts in Moods in the autumn. Till then, it is worth listening to her new album «Härz Schritt Macherin» (2018): a collection of wonderfully slick songs with very personal texts, yet which are written so smartly and wittily, as only Steff la Cheffe can.

Anthony Joseph

Spoken Words combined with Caribbean rhythms: born in Trinidad, singer and performer Anthony Joseph lets his words flow, they are woven with percussion and brass instruments until they become one. On the album «Caribbean Roots» (2016) he researches his roots and brings together the otherwise isolated musical traditions of the Caribbean. The result is a touching, reflective and inspirational poetry, which is carried by a groovy sound.

David Murray Infinity Quartet feat. Saul Williams

David Murray can look back on a long journey: hardly anyone else has so energetically researched the connection and shortcuts between the avantgarde and tradition and in the process acquired a profile that makes him unique amonst saxophonists of his generation. For his latest project, Murray&#x27;s Infinity Quartet is joined by the rapper, singer, actor and poet, Saul Williams. Grown up in the Poetry Slam-Scene, Williams became known through his Spoken-Word albums, vital blends of HipHop, Punk, Elektro and kicking lyrics. Murray and Williams – an explosive collaboration by two high-flyers who - through their music - want to draw attention to the pressing problems of the world.

La Dame Blanche

A huge headscarf and cigar in hand: not everyone can bring so much coolness onto the stage like the Cuban Yaite Ramos Rodriguez aka La Dame Blanche. She grew up in the bubbling Cuba music scene as the daughter of Jesus “Aguaje” Ramos, Leader of the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club. Cumbia and salsa - the musical styles that she has known since her childhood - provide the basis for her sound. With Hiphop, Dancehall and Reggae, she well and truly shakes up these old Caribbean styles until an irresistible hot-blooded mix has been created.  Supported by SüdKulturFonds

BIGYUKI

With his music, Bigyuki wagers the jump into the future! The keyboarder hails originally from Japan, meanwhile he lives in New York and has already collaborated with greats such as Q-Tip, Bilal Marcus Strickland and Mark Guiliana. On his debut album, «Greek Fire» (2015), Bigyuki plays unique compositions featuring elements of jazz, hip hop, soul, rock and electronica. On stage he will be accompanied by a drummer and a guitarist. Live, the trio creates an unexpectedly massive sound.

A-WA

A-WA is the World Pop lucky bag sensation from the Israeli Negev desert. Their band name means «Ja» in Arabic slang and one feels this positive approach in the music of the three sisters from Israel: the combination of traditional old Jemeniti singing with hip-hop beats, reggae grooves and electronic elements generates an immediate desire to dance, in the performers and audience alike. The sound and the style of A-WA remind us of the Londoners M.I.A and yet are unmistakeable: cheeky, pop colourful with a rebellious energy.
