About ten years ago, Ben L'Oncle Soul was flushed onto the scene out of nowhere. With cover versions of hits like "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes or "Otherside" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, new and freshly presented in the soul fashion, the musician was responsible for the earworms of the year. However, there is much more to the French singer than a clever knack for cover versions. Ben is a full-blooded musician who reinvents himself with each album.
2016 saw the release of "Under My Skin", on which he presented new versions of Frank Sinatra songs. Last year, he released the longplayer "Addicted To You", which finally tore down the boundaries between hip hop and jazz, between pop and R'n'B. The influences of his youth are clearly recognisable - Method Man, Lauryn Hill, the Wu-Tang Clan, but also Robert Glasper and other jazz virtuosos have left their mark.
For his last album, he made a call on social media, announcing that for his latest project, all fans could send him their songs and try their luck. Over 300 songs were submitted and the agony of choice began: "We listened to everything blindly, and very quickly came up with a selection. The album is the fruit of the ones that captivated us instantly, regardless of their genre."
It is due to his talent that the album does not seem like a patchwork quilt, but comes from a single mould and fits seamlessly into his discography.

Accessibility
The lower floor of the club is at ground level and accessible without steps. There is one accessible bathroom which can be used with a Eurokey. The bar is not accessible and is approximately 1.20 metres high. Sensory stimuli: Most concerts are accompanied by moving lights and smoke. Moods members are guaranteed admission to every event until 30 minutes before the concert starts. Only shows with a high demand require a reservation. The corresponding concerts are marked on the website with "Member-Reservation".

Moods is reached via the main entrance of the Schiffbau at Schiffbauplatz. We recommend arriving by public transport (streetcar 4 or 8 / bus 72, 83 or 33 to Schiffbau; S-Bahn to Hardbrücke station and from there approx. 2 minutes on foot). Parking spaces are available under Hardbrücke and in the Pfingstweid-/Hardstrasse parking garage.
