In Memory of Werner Stettler

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to our former vice president, who was so much more than that. An obituary for someone who helped guide Moods through difficult times.

Dear Werner It’s very hard for me to write these lines. It means saying goodbye to you, and that hurts a lot. In 2018, you were elected to the Moods board, and before long you were steering the organization’s course as vice president. You were always there when we had questions or concerns. Your background as a management consultant helped us and the board make the right decisions during difficult times. Without you, the association would certainly have found itself in rougher waters. Together with the executive board, you’ve skillfully navigated several major challenges: the relaunch of the streaming service, the pandemic, and the post-COVID recovery. You were a very good listener, you were able to mediate between different parties, and what I really appreciated was your calm demeanor and your confidence that everything would turn out well. I still remember so clearly the board meeting in 2023, when we were at a crossroads and you simply said, “It’ll all work out—don’t worry.” And it did work out. Even when it came to difficult and unpopular decisions, you found the right words and communicated very clearly. That really impressed me. You were a truly wonderful person; culture and music were close to your heart, and your volunteer work and personal dedication to Moods were exceptionally significant in so many ways. Personally, I'd like to thank you for the trust you placed in me, for the countless conversations—which were always so enjoyable—and for the friendship we developed. I miss them very much, Werner. In loving memory
Dani, on behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire Moods team
