Me&Mobi is the musical playground of a Swiss electronic jazz duo consisting of Philipp Schlotter (piano/electronics) and Fred Bürki (drums/electronics). Between collective improvisation, hypnotic beats and eccentric soundscapes stands the individual understanding of jazz of the two musicians. Their new album Gysenstein will be released on Sbire, a young Swiss label for unconventional music from La-Chaux-de-Fonds.

Gysenstein is four days away from the world and eight improvisations recorded live. The fragility and spontaneity of the compositions reflect the peaceful yet harsh environment of winter on the edge of the Swiss Alps. Philipp Schlotter's acoustic piano, which has been prepared with various objects and alienated by effects devices, oscillates between club sounds, glittering surfaces and stubborn patterns. These memories of the 90s are interwoven with Fred Bürki's electronic and organic beats to create her current sound aesthetic. To further expand their universe, they invited Basel-based singer Anna Aaron to join them on seven of the eight tracks. The recordings are embellished with ethereal voices, sometimes unstructured and sometimes chanted. The album conveys the floating feeling of a stretching timeline on a walk on moving ground.
