A terrific blend of Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop. The multi-instrumentalist and producer Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, the mastermind behind A Tribe Called Quest, released their first joint album “The Midnight Hour” in 2018. It is an ode to the high culture of the Harlem renaissance – a social, cultural and artistic movement of Afro-American writers and painters of the 1920’s. The album was recorded on analogue tape with the Linear Labs Orchestra and some of the greatest Hip-Hop and Soul voices of our time, amongst them CeeLo Green, Raphael Saadiq, Luther Vandross, Bilal, Questlove and Marsha Ambrosius. The two musicians themselves say about the new album: “”The Midnight Hour” represents the black idiom in regards to jazz, hip-hop and cinematic soul for a new generation.”
Before the concert, two of the band’s musicians will each play a warm-up solo-set
