MonoNeon is one of the most sought-after bass players in the music scene for hip-hop and funk grooves. Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers called him "The greatest fucking electric bass player". Prince was also taken with his skills, which is why they played a series of concerts together at Paisley Park. On Youtube, in addition to concert and music videos, which he often performs in neon or knitted clothing, he shows how he integrates supposed noise sources into his music live. For example, he puts a lecture to music and loops it in such a way that a groovy, unmistakable sound is created. Now you can experience him live for the first time in Zurich on the Moods stage.

The NZZ writes: "Dywane Thomas Jr aka MonoNeon is an incomparable funk avant-gardist - an electric bassist who seeks his inspiration in the aesthetic modernism of the 20th century, and a musician who himself wants to appear like a painting by Ellsworth Kelly."

For the bass nerds:
MonoNeon is right-handed, but plays left-handed upside down on a right-handed bass guitar, which allows him to bend the upper strings a lot . Because he does everything upside down, his slapping style/technique is unique, yet he still uses his thumb for slaps and his fingers for pops.
