In this programme, "Nasty Women" take the reins of institutional power and expose the absurd illogic of the entire system. These rebellious queens of destruction embrace the joy of social protest and anarchic physical destruction, destroying the home, bullying their spouses and bringing the feminist revolution to the streets. Long before the term "Nasty Woman" became a feminist rallying cry and long before "pussy hats" and social media hashtags existed, comedians and feminist activists were speaking truth to patriarchal power. To be a Nasty Woman is to "refuse to be disciplined or silenced while embracing the messiness inherent in gender and sexual difference and engaging as an energetic participant in feminist political life." (Hennefeld/Horak)

The evening will be opened by the exceptional Zurich singer, drummer and percussionist Sabina Leone, who became known as the drummer of the all-girls band Wemean and as one half of "Sorelle Leone" and is currently on tour with her new solo project Héloïse, in which she sits at her drum kit and sews percussive patterns with scraps of fabric from the off.

Fatty and Minnie-He-Haw (US 1914, 21 min), Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle
Fatty steals onto a train, is discovered and dropped off in the middle of nowhere. He stumbles through the hot desert and eventually faints. An equally plump Indian woman finds him and takes him to her tepee, woos him and finally, in desperation, Fatty agrees to marry the energetic woman. While the tribe prepares for the wedding ceremony, Fatty tries to escape...
