In the climate debate, a tipping point occurs when a previously straightforward and unambiguous development is abruptly interrupted, changes direction or accelerates sharply due to certain feedbacks. Since the turn of the millennium, climate research has been pointing out that climate change is not only developing linearly, but that abrupt turning points and irreversible changes of global significance can occur.

With the project tipping point, bass clarinettist, composer and electronic tinkerer Jan Galega Brönnimann and video artist Samuel Radvila (Optickle) venture an audio visual approach to this topic. The project is conceived in such a way that its outcome is open and can abruptly take a completely new and unexpected direction through the interaction of sound and image. Compiled visual and audio material on the climate risk index will be reinterpreted; existing composition modules will be approached anew each time as a live remix. Nobody knows the exact course and dramaturgy of the performance in advance. Just as the development of the climate cannot be predicted, the course of the performance will not be fixed.

For the concert at Moods, two guest musicians will complete the line-up:
Joy Frempong (OY) is an exceptional singer with a strong background in electronica, urban music and improvisation and a very unique approach to electronic music.
Aida Gabrielle Diop (L'Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp) is a French-Senegalese percussionist as well as drummer, active in various formations from fusion to contemporary music. Her influences range from Latin America, Africa and Europe.
