The detailed admission rules are listed here: https://www.moods.club/en/program/admission-rules-covid/ The duo Ester Poly comprises Martina Berther on electro-bass from Zurich and Béatrice Graf on drums from Geneva. Their music moves between Psychedelic Rock, Punk and New Wave with political and socio-critical song texts. Since the foundation in 2013 the duo has played over 160 concerts in Switzerland and abroad, from big club and festival stages to small DIY gigs. On their second album, «WET», (release on 20. August 2021 on the Swiss label Hummus Records) the two musicians now expand the possibility of the bass + drum tandem with unforeseen sounds and influences from improvised music. The result of the mix is a freshly squeezed Ester-Poly juice with a bitter socio-critical aftertaste.

The Psychedelic Music Explosion

With their Shaman Techno-Folk-Hybrid, which is firmly rooted in the religious poetry of the Anatolian Alewi, and their energy-loaded punky attitude, the band Insanlar has cultivated a mystical fan base. The release of the hypnoti  stomper «Kime Ne» on the British label Honest Jon&#x27;s in 2015 catapulted the band onto the international stage. The individual blend of traditional Anatolian/Mesopotamian instrumentation, electronic music and spiritual/philosophical texts totally captivates the audience.

Welcome to the new Living Room Session parlour! After a detour to Aarau, Jur Records are back in Zurich with their Living Room Session. When the man behind the wire-rimmed glasses and the disarming smile writes his job description, what does he write? The man whose records catapulted breakbeat into a whole new galaxy of sound? Even if he doesn&#x27;t want to admit it, LTJ Bukem is the living embodiment of the creative spirit of the post-acid house era. He is a mild-mannered bundle of energy whose panoramic musical vision has succeeded in every field he has explored. Of course, the DJs of the Living Room Family will also be on hand to provide hot beats and massive bass throughout the night.

Acknowledged as a modern-day Aşık, a troubadour, Cem has been relentlessly pushing the boundaries of modern Anatolian music, inspired by poets and folk musicians, such as Yunus Emre or Ali Ekber Çiçek. His idiosyncratic combination of shamanic folk acid, spiritual lyrics, and techno creates a hypnotic atmosphere on stage as well as on the dancefloor: this is where Cem is most passionately improvising with his beloved electric bağlama. His characteristic sound is deeply embedded in club bangers, such as Stil and Ejma with Acid Arab, and in his earlier works with Orient Expressions and İnsanlar. Cem toured in Europe and performed, amongst others, at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Sonar in Barcelona, Dekmantel in Amsterdam, or Kilbi.

Live in Surround Tour

Dub Spencer &amp; Trance Hill have been in the music business for about 20 years and are still as hungry as a caterpillar in forest full of leaves. Together with their longtime companion Umberto Echo they present their new album «Imago Cells» live in Surround. Imago cells are responsible for a caterpillar&#x27;s ability to transform into a butterfly. This served as the starting point for the new record: something old is overcome so that something new and more beautiful can emerge. Now it&#x27;s not that Dub Spencer &amp; Trance Hill wanted to overcome their dub roots. But it is in the nature of the four Musicians from Lucerne to climb unknown branches. The tracks sound much more electronic, Umberto Echo&#x27;s dubmix skills, already legendary in stereo, reach a spectacular new level; what remains is the ecstatic live performance. So all fans of danceable dub, trance and organic techno music can expect an extraordinary sound experience that should not be missed.

Severin Prothmann, who today spins under the name Le 7è ciel, was a resident at the &quot;Club Aera&quot; (Zurich) as well as at the &quot;Different Bar&quot; (Bern) from 1991 on. His bookings led him from there over a multitude of locations in Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Lucerne, Basel, Bern and Zurich to Berlin. Since 1993 he produces electronic music under the label Zoul Guru Rec. and together with his wife Maria he is organizer and promoter of citytunes in Zurich since 2012. He initially found his love for music through a classical education on clarinet, bass clarinet as well as saxophone and continued as a DJ from the age of 13. Initially, mainly funk, disco and jazz landed on Sevi&#x27;s turntables before he was among the first in Switzerland to adopt hip hop. His commitment to this culture culminated in the opening of the legendary &quot;Beat Bunker&quot;, Switzerland&#x27;s first permanent rap club in Zurich North. His path as a DJ then led from rap to acid jazz to electronic music.

Kyoto Jazz Massive was founded over 30 years ago by the brothers Shūya and Yoshihiro Okino and discovered by Gilles Peterson. Since then, they have been storming jazz hearts worldwide with their spiritual crossover ventures and electronic influences. In an exclusive masterclass, we meet founding member and creative director Shūya in an interview with London-based music journalist Dom Servini. The masterclass will be held in English. Open to musicians and anyone interested in music. No registration required.

Yavuz musical career dates back to 1997 when he first stepped into the Istanbul music scene with Acid Jazz. His path led from the Shaman World Music Club to well-known clubs of Istanbul&#x27;s nightlife, such as Eski Beyrut, Hayal Kahvesi, Araf Bar or Melek Bar, where he was significantly involved in establishing world music as a trend on the Bosphorus. He moved to Zurich in 20018 and regularly plays in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Turkey at various concerts, festivals, world electronic beat, and funk parties. He also regularly joins forces with musicians in live jam sessions. Between 2013 and 2019, Yavuz managed his own indie radio project «Radio Beatkolektif». From these diverse experiences arose his unique style with a vast selection of the finest tunes, from world music, electronic, and psychedelic to funk and indie.

Led by Shuya Okino and featuring Vanessa Freeman on lead vocals, KJM is now backed by the powerful Echoes Of A New Dawn Orchestra, spreading their unique cross-over vision from jazz-funk, broken beat to soulful house, cosmic grooves and everything in-between !  After a highly energetic night in late December 2023, they are back to rock Zurich out of its socks.

The Philipp Eden Trio with Xaver Rüegg on double bass and Vincent Glanzmann on drums plays contemporary Jazz with much flair for tonal and formal aesthetic. In their music the three musicians combine influences that range from Classical music via Avantgarde to Hip-Hop. The result is a penetrating ensemble music with an expressive density that inspires the listener’s imaginative powers. In Moods the trio will present, amongst others, compositions from the new album, «Placid».

Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out – everyone has danced to this 90&#x27;s hit from Freak Power! Over 20 years have passed since then and founder Norman Cook is meanwhile known as Fatboy Slim. Now the British band is back again: with their bubbling mix of Acid-Jazz, Funk and Soul, they revive the good old times with just as much energy and groove and also bring along some new songs. A must for all nostalgics and all those who want to swing their hips again before the Summer break.

James Taylor Quartet

The Brit James Taylor is a talented Hammond B-3 organ player and a pioneer of acid jazz. Meanwhile, his quarter has written a 30-year history which comprises countless albums and collaboration with renowned performers such as Tom Jones, U2 and The Pogues. Throughout the years the James Taylor Quartet has developed its very own sound, which is audibly inspired by the funk of the 60&#x27;s and 70&#x27;s, R’n’B, psychedelic Jazz and film scores. Live, the JTQ will once again impress the audience with its energy-loaded show.
